A necklace fit for Marie Antoinette
Marie Antoinette was perhaps the epitome of femininity. With her flamboyant silk-tasseled costumes and her love of animals and gardens, any necklace she wore would have needed to reflect these passions. Pink was one of the queen's preferred colours, so for this necklace - made for Breguet - of imaginary currant fruits for a private client Cécile Arnaud conceived a combination of pink sapphires and rubies suspended under a graceful bow of diamonds.
